I go by Ai~, which means love in Nihongo, a culture of which I am not part but with which I used to be charmed. These are the first two letters of my real name, which was formed by spelling my mother’s name backwards. I chose the online handle “Ai” because it is short, uncommon, and can stand for the “self” I wish to project in this site — an “I” reflecting the things I love. (And boy, do I ponder on the concept of love a whole lot. It shows in my journal.) ;)
